Ludwig LM400 snare drum refurbishment (1994 model)
In this video I'm doing a full refurbishment of my 1994 Ludwig 400 snare drum. I completely strip down my trusty Luddy LM400 Supraphonic snare drum, replace the batter head, fix the damper mechanism, clean it all up and generally giving it some TLC. Includes a comparison between Evans G1 and a Remo Ambassador Coated heads. This is NOT a vintage snare drum - estimated build date is 1994 making it 21 years old at the time of upload.

Bridge Burning Drum Cover - Foo Fighters (around grade 6)
Переглядів 4323 роки тому
In this video I'm playing a drum cover of Bridge Burning by the Foo Fighters, originally performed by one of my favourite drummers of all time - Taylor Hawkins. Although this track isn't particularly rudiment heavy it's quite difficult - fast and energetic, hence the grade 6 rating. This is certainly not a beginner level track! Learning covers of famous songs on the drums is a fantastic way of ...
Sampling on a Budget? Alesis SamplePad Pro Review!
Переглядів 24 тис.3 роки тому
This is a review of the Alesis SamplePad Pro drum sample pad. Summary: A great introduction to using a sampler as part of your drum set-up. Sample load time is horrifically slow and the interface is awful but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Don't expect the features and performance of a unit that's double the price. Fine for home studio or occasional live use for triggering the odd sample here and th...

Developing wrist and finger speed on drums - Jojo Mayer hand clap exercises
Переглядів 13 тис.3 роки тому
Here are 3 simple exercises you can do without a drum kit to build wrist and finger speed / stamina. Firstly the 'Jojo Mayer hand clapping' exercise, then a stickless finger speed exercise and finally a revere stick finger exercise. I highly recommend the Jojo Mayer 'Secret Weapons for the Modern Drummer' DVD to all drummers out there. For more info: ua-cam.com/video/vE-aTHwIEzA/v-deo.html www....

Any chance you could do more click track possibly from 160 to 200? If not possible I understand great videos man
Great until the commmercial. Kind of ruins it.
Excellent video! Really informative and it provided a lot of info I wanted to know. Do you have an idea about the maximum size/duration a sample must be?
that 'muck' is oxide from the cymbal. In theory if you keep polishing with a cleaner you'll eventually rub right through. :o
Can I use white vinegar instead of the white spirits
Warning to any drummers, using Brasso is not a good idea. . It's far too abrasive, just look at how much metal is on the cloth when you use it. It also flattens, softens and changes the shape of the tonal grooves. Of course it will clean the dirtiest of cymbals, but at a cost. Learn to live with the tarnished cymbals, keep them clean with standard washing-up liquid to remove loose dirt and grease. Don't waste your money on branded cymbals cleaners, they are now only cymbal polish. Legislation has made the use of old style cymbal cleaners impossible. NEVER use Brasso on new cymbals with protective coatings, just use a soft cloth to remove greasy finger marks. Try using gloves when setting up and breaking down your drum set.
Thanks, I'm a guitar player with a drum kit, for my little studio. I mistakenly purchased a standing snare, but turns out it's one of those nice, heavy Yamaha stands. Gonna swap for a kit stand tomorrow.. Nice video, very helpful for us noobs.
Great video. Don't you also build extensions as well as play the drums!😊
Interesting....is that a Ludwig buttplate?
Ok i got a very nice Pearl all maple FF snare drum 14 x 6.5. Ive always used a 14 x 5 or 14 x 5 .5 but this snare is deeper which makes it too high even at the lowest setting....im a short guy so in i need it lower . Any ideas ? Should i modify the stand cut it to suit or buy a low rider stand for deep snares ? I'm on a budget and they aren't cheap as you mentioned. Thanks mate.
I want to know if there's a way on how to program congas and cowbell together so when you play a specific rhythm congas and cowbell play automatically as well, I'm trying to figure it out
This is not 140bpm, it's a bit less
dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink, nah it a metronome doe
Me who got the el cheapo stand ☠️☠️☠️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, you teach very well. My stand didn’t come with any instructions at all, just a bunch of warnings, like don’t stick your fingers in the pipes 😬😅.
Good review. Do these clips cause any vibrations to be picked up through drum mics when recording? Or are they ok?
Great work. I found that your helpful video works. My cymbals have come up like new and you've earned a well deserved 'like'.
Im going Cuckoo listening to this.
Do not buy!!!! Totally junk with problems
THIS is the theory/applied theory instruction my left hand has been searching for, now that I am serious about improving my technique from the ground-up. Thanks for the detailed but concise explanations and, especially, the slow-motion videos of the hands. Fabulous!
Like
great video
Very nice 👍 ji I love you liked so sweet 💕
I keep an e drum style snare on a snare stand but have recently found it is sliding towards me.. any advice ?
Thanks for posting
Is 4/4 better to Practice using metronome on drums or 1/4?? For beginners? 60bpm speed to start ?
Mint, I am going to try this. North east represent.
No
Hey! Does this unit play complete backing tracks? Like 5 min samples? Thanks!
where can i get a snare drum stand nice and tall like the stray cats?
not 130. wanted to use it to sync to other metronome (does not have higher pitch 1's) but your click is not exactly 130. My daw and the other metronome is synced.
Thank you that help😊
what is white spirits? is that mineral spirits?
5:46 that circle part that you need an allen wrench to tighten keeps coming out. Are all stand like that?
Talking too much.
How do I increase beat
You could go to the video "settings" tab, then in the video "playback speed" tab you can choose any one of the 8 different preset speeds o̲r̲ in that same "playback speed" tab, you can click on the "custom" tab and freely move the scroll bar left to right to choose any video play speed from 0.25x speed to 2x speed (you can choose speed increments of 0.05x speed in the custom tab). This video's BPM is published at a fixed beat. From there, you can slow that fixed beat down to 0.25x speed (at minimum) or speed it up to 2x speed (at maximum)...and everything in between those two ranges at 0.05x speed increments. What those actual BPM's translate to in a numeric form are anyone's guess, since you're just slowing or speeding a video. But if you're essentially just looking for a metronome sort of gadget to set a rough BPM range, then the video "playback speed" function is your friend in the "settings" tab. Hope that helps.
Nice hat throw ;)
Where can I go to load sounds on an SD card.
Good video although sometimes I think I can tell the difference I’m not 100% sure. Your strokes seem consistent so probably the only way to really tell on video is with a spectrometer or something. :-) I’ll come back and listen with headphones. Thanks.
How often do you do this routine to see results? Once per day for example?
🎸💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
What is a good clamps that goes on an 8" and it has the tama superstar brackets. I have the senheiser e604 mics and the brackets are in the way of the clamps.
Sorry to bother you do you have the drum music for this?
Where did you get your Bruno Mars samples from. And what platform did you get most of your samples from.
Can you create your sample by plugging in your phone to the aux jack.
I bought a set of these 3 years ago and initially I was a little disappointed. After a quick Google search I found out that they needed to be be "worn in" like higher quality speakers. After about 20 hours of play the sound improved dramatically. They are now my favourite wired in ear earphones.
Yay! :D
where can I find the songs origjnal video
.
But- how do you set a snare drum or the hi hat thingy?
